Friends! Romans! Countryman! The last marking period of the second semester begins May 2, 2011 and ends June 16.

It’s time for Shakespeare - Julius Caesar!  We will be reading the entire play in class, and will also view scenes from the 1953 movie (with Marlon Brando playing Marc Antony) as we read. Students will choose a project to work on related to the play, either individually or with a partner or group. Projects range from movies to scene presentations to art to rewriting scenes. Projects will be presented the week of June 6th.  There will be quizzes on each act of the play, and the semester final will test knowledge of the play in its entirety.

We will continue vocabulary study and grammar Do-Nows.

CALENDAR LINK: Here you can find out what we did in class each day and what the homework is.  I update this section constantly to reflect our activities.  If you are absent, this link will tell you what you need to do to catch up.  Students who were absent must submit an absence clearance when they return to class in order to get missed handouts and turn in completed work.

WEBGRADE LINK: Please note that webgrades will be posted by the end of the third week of the marking period but will not be weighted until there are enough grades to make the weights meaningful.  By the fifth week of the grading period, weights will be assigned.  Until then, webgrades are useful to see how well you did on each assignment (and if you're missing any).

It's good to be behind a book.
