As your child's mathematics teacher, I would like to see your child gets off to a successful start this school year. TEACHER'S OBJECTIVES : In working with the students I will : 1. Help to develop basic skills in all areas of mathematics according to the child's needs and ability. 2. Help to develop positive self-image and appreciation for their unique individuality. 3. Encourage students to listen, follow directions, and relate classroom learning to everyday experience. 4. Help to develop the necessary skills to survive and prosper in society. 5. Help to develop necessary skills needed for college mathematics. STUDENTS' CLASS EXPECTATIONS: 1. Each student will report to class on time, be in their assigned seat, and ready to work when the tardy bell rings. 2. Each student will bring textbook, binder or folder, paper, pencil, and other teacher suggested items to class daily. 3. Show respect and courtesy towards each other and Skyline staff at all times. Our language must be appropiate to the classroom and school environment. 4. Class work, home work and project should be turned in on time. 5. Students are required to follow all classroom and school rules at all times. CLASSROOM RULES : 1. Follow Directions at all times. 2. Be Prompt. Report to class on time 3. Be Prepared. Bring pencil, paper, binder or folder, textbook, and other teacher suggested materials to class every day. 4. Be Responsible. Turn in all assignments on time. Make up assignments when absent. No eating or chewing gum in class, no hats, no radios or electronic device. 5. Be Respectful. Treat every person with respect. CONSEQUENCES 1. Warning 2. Call parents, lower citizenship grade, detention. 3. Referral to counselor. Request parent conference. Suspend for a day from my class. 4. Send immediately to an administrator.
MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES Students should bring to class text book, pencils eraser, paper, ruler and a calculator. GRADING POLICY Citizenship Grade is based on student's behavior in class, attendance and punctuality, responsibility, cooperation with other students and the teacher; and following classroom rules. Scholarship Grade is based on tests, quizzes, class work, home work, binders, class participation, and projects. Binders are checked every two -three weeks. There will be a minimum of one test per week, and a minimum of three home work assignments per week. Scholarship grades are computed as follows: Binder ( Home work, class work, and short-term assignment) 25% Quizzes, Tests, and long-tem assignments 75% Grades are assigned according to the following scale: A = 90 - 100 %, B = 80 - 89 %, C = 70 - 79 %, D = 60 - 69 % F = 0 - 59 %. All Tests, Quizzes, and Exams are closed books and closed notes.

GRADING POLICY Citizenship Grades are based on student's behavior in class, attendance and punctuality, responsibility, cooperation, and following classroom rules. Scholarship Grades are computed as follows: Homework, Class Work, Short-Term Assignments 20% Quizzes, Tests, Special Problems, Projects 80%. Grades are assigned according to the following scale: A = 90 - 100%, B = 80 - 89%, C = 70 - 79%, D = 60 - 69%, F = 0 -59%. For Semester Grade, the three marking periods are averaged. All Tests and Quizzes are closed books and closed notes.
